Introduction to rope travel

Discover the introductory training course in rope access offered by HTC Techniques Verticales, an accredited organisation. Develop your skills and safety awareness and prepare yourself to work at height with complete confidence.

  • Know French regulations on rope access work
  • Know how to move along ropes (ascending, descending)
  • Pass an acroter, a knot, a deviation, a split
  • Set up your equipment for your intervention (pulley system + anchors)
  • Know the main common knots / perform a rope transfer
  • Rescue a victim during descent

Introduction to rope access work and travel

Progression on ropes in various configurations of varying complexity: ascending, descending
Knowing how to tie knots and make anchor points to create rope equipment
Know how to set up temporary and permanent anchors
Set up anchors on site
Analysing and controlling potential risks
Determining a working procedure according to the activity
Theory review during the practical phase
Rope rescue during descent
Rope rescue with pulley kit

Introduction to rope travel

Duration : 5 days (Initial), 3 days (Refresher)
Validity : 3 years
Prerequisites : Be of legal age / HTC medical clearance / Rope access technician with 1,000 hours of experience
Audience : This training course is not accessible to people with Category B and C disabilities. Category A disabilities: please contact us
